HEALTH-O-RAMA
The much anticipated 2020 Health-O-Rama is just around the corner. August 14th is the date when the Lung Disease Center, along with the Altoona Lung Specialists and the Lung Disease Foundation, will be sponsoring the annual health fair known as Health-O-Rama at the Logan Valley Mall. This year will be an unusual year for this premiere event owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Keeping a similar format again this year, the Altoona Lung Specialists will provide informative medical presentations, which in the past have focused on various aspects of pulmonary health and sleep issues. This year all of our comments will be directed to important aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic. We want to provide some accurate information to everyone to improve understanding of this viral disease and help insure we can make good decisions about keeping ourselves and others safe.
The Zlupko Family Cook-Off will occur in a modified dessert format. There will also be a new feature through our partnership with the Red Cross. A blood drive will take place at the Logan Valley Mall in association with Health-O-Rama. Blood supplies have dwindled during this pandemic and we encourage anyone willing and able to donate blood to attend and donate.
Some additional surprises are in store, so keep your eyes and ears open for some special announcements. I personally invite you all to come to this year’s Health-O-Rama event. We ask that you wear masks to keep yourself and others safe, and consider donating blood.
