July 4th is the unofficial start of the summer season. I wanted to take this opportunity to fill you in on the up and coming events the Lung Disease Center will be involved with. I have plenty more articles which will appear in this column in the weeks to come, but with the summer being such a busy season I thought we could take a deep breath and look at the coming attractions.
First on the list is our annual Health-0-Rama event at the Logan Valley Mall on Friday,August 19th. Please, try to come out for a few minutes and listen to our lectures, get free information from the large group of health care vendors, and see who wins this year’s Cook Off between me and my son. If you would like to participate in the Beacon of Light walk to benefit the Lung Disease Foundation call 814-946-2845. The Lung Disease Center has just entered a partnership with Clinical Research Associates. This local research firm is well established and will offer studies of varying types which we will make available to our patients.
The benefit of these studies include free medications which could help patients in the “donut hole”, free exams and often payment for your time and participation. More about this in pamphlets in our office or one line at “thelungspecialists.com”. I continue to write “DR. Z’s Rantz” available on our web site. I encourage you to read and comment on these.
